Thank you Sen. Rand Paul for your dedication to the American people and filibustering. We have to obey the bill of rights, Americans need these protections. The Constitution applies to everybody, every American here and it is worth filibustering over.pic.twitter.com/77QSepUxIh

The protections in the Constitution don't need to be added to other bills that in their length add loopholes and screw protections into a pretzel...they merely need to be obeyed as standalone protections against Gov overreach....the protections of the Constitution are absolute!
-
Well said! :)
-
If they need to add Constitutional protections to a bill, everything else in it must be un-Constitutional....
-
As clear as crystal. Because most of Congress has lost that concept... they are trying to shoe-horn more central power in under the nose of the Constitution. It wasn't meant to be a game of 3-card monty. The Constitution isn't vague. :)
-
It's amazing to me that people buy into the idea that a Constitutional Right written in 1 or 2 sentences can be clarified or strengthened in hundreds of pages, thousands of lines and millions of words....
-
that's where we went off the rails. The plain English the Constitution was written in clarifies certain rights that the Founders thought needed to be there (some thought it was so obvious they didn't need in the Constitution). And that the rights are a fence, not a grant.
-
The Constitution is not a list of Rights we are given by the Gov, it is a List of things in our personal and private lives the Gov can not touch, oppress or restrict, even under the consent of We, the People...
-
Yep. and the 10th showed us that Federalism won. And the STATES and PEOPLE were the arbiters of anything not SPECIFICALLY put in the Constitution for the Federal government. Why is this a hard concept?

Why is it that the government thinks it can do anything it wants to do? If the constitution were an actual contract, which it sort of is, they should be sued big time for breach of it.
-
Our government has become unbelievably big right under our noses, and it is OUR FAULT. We re-elect the same senators and representatives who pass these laws that take away our liberties. We need to get rid of them and start over.
-
The thing is, they arrange for us to choose from bad choice "A" or from as bad or worse choice "B" so voting doesn't work so great, just another cycle, it's a game, and it's stacked against us
