Moving in the wrong direction. Going to clean, renewable sources of energy would be the right direction. What's wrong doctor, do you not believe in science anymore?
-
Utility companies own the coal fired power plants. They are cleaner burning than your car. The part you fail to realize is that when the wind isn't blowing or the sun isn't shining, you will freeze your butt off in winter or fry in summer. Private investment is fuels the change.
-
Most of California is powered by wind and solar. We seem to be doing just fine.
-
BS. Vancouver is powered by hydro electric power. http://NRCAN.GOV "Canada is a world leader in hydro electricity, which accounts for 59% of the country's electricity supply. Other sources include coal, uranium, natural gas, petroleum and non-hydro renewable sources."
-
Vancouver is in another country. California is not in Canada. Russian bot.?

you are referring to burning more coal, pouring more CO2 into the air, and accelerating the pace of global warming, correct?
-
One forest fire puts out as much CO2 into the air in a week as every car in California puts out in a month.
-
source?
-
US Government, 2009.
-
that's not a source. where's the link? anyway, what does your questionable factoid have to do with coal, and how is it relevant? don't regulate CO2 emissions because there are forest fires?
-
The US Government is the source. Coal is less CO2 emissions than many other things such as wood heating. People complain buy do nothing themselves. Regulate people to death is what happens. The link is here: https://www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=110580 … Here us another:https://www.livescience.com/1981-wildfires-release-cars.html …

Because of high carbon content, coal emits more CO2 than any other fossil fuel when it’s burned. It’s the main source of fuel for electricity worldwide. In the United States it accounts for 83 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in electric power sector. https://www.biologicaldiversity.org/programs/climate_law_institute/energy_and_global_warming/ …
