Watch these independent Arab online media that continue to grow & develop. They respect their audience & fellow citizens, & the ethics of their craft. This is a great example. They are a strong element in our collective hope for normal Arab societies, rather than distorted ones.

Colonial powers like france & UK & amateur wannabe colonial powers like the US remain uncomfortable with genuinely sovereign countries in the South that respect the rule of law. They prefer the ones that remain dependent on them. It is in their ideological chromosomes, it seems.

Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque is a masterpiece of Persian architecture. It was built during the Safavid Empire, standing on the eastern side of Naqsh-i Jahan Square, Esfahan, Iran.

This is a good example of the pro-Israel lobby and associated zealots and thugs in the US freaking out because the world is increasingly recognizing and opposing Israel’s brutality and colonialism. There is only one reasonable outcome: equal rights for Israelis and Palestinians

One of the best books on conflict I’ve ever read. On top of richly detailed history, its particular virtue is its 💯🎯 analysis of Palestinian leadership’s ineptitude, weakness and frequent political miscalculation, especially regarding US policy/intentions. Essential reading.

This is what working-class leadership looks like — an ongoing, organized struggle to make the Democratic Party establishment fear the voters empowered by that struggle more than it fears donors

The antidote to such skinhead extremism is to repeat over & over that palestine and Israel must exist as fully equal sovereign states, ending Zionist apartheid and colonialism and giving refugees their rights. Peace means equal rights under the rule of law. We must work for this.

This is why such pro-Israeli extremism has reduced its impact to mostly ignorant US officials at state & Federal levels. And their actions, like equating BDS with anti-semitism that must be outlawed, are routinely struck down by US courts that respect equal rights for all.

Racist Attempts like this to shut down voices that demand equal rights for both sides are less effective than they used to be. But the thugs stick with their old script, because they reject equal rights for both sides, preferring Israeli apartheid systems.

Great—now all we need is for you to get the US itself to join the ICC so that it can be held accountable like all other states.

In a week Hezbollah has found itself caught up in two sectarian clashes—in Khaldeh and now with the Druze. They will likely be contained, but this can hardly be reassuring to the party if it is looking for a domestic Lebanese consensus in the event of a conflict with Israel.

The brutality of states with huge security capabilities against powerless individual civilians is one of the most despicable trends across much of the Arab region. Individuals resist as they can but usually cannot stand up to the power & cruelty of the modern militarized state.

The unmentioned fact that is worth repeating is that Israel's Conflicts and tensions with Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, Ben & Jerry's and others is a consequence of the Palestine -Israel Conflict & Zionist colonial expansion. That is where we need serious peacemaking efforts.

Some 50,000 people were violently forced out of the Palestinian city of Lydd during the creation of Israel in 1948. Today, their descendants are still resisting. Watch the full video:
