Please explain for me if you will how Syria's elected government can be involved in a "land-grab" of sovereign Syrian territory?
Turkey’s foreign minister once again reiterates that if Russia and the Syrian regime take over border areas they will not object, as long as the PYD are expelled. This has to be the easiest land grab opportunity Assad has had since the war started.

This is a diplomatic maneuver ahead of the Erdogan-Pence talks. "You want to fuck us up if we continue the operation? If we really stop the operation, Assad/Iran take over these areas. Is that what you want?" It's Turkey trying to regain some leverage.
