    Loved the example of how granting immunity in exchange for "no advertising" was a great a deal for the Cigarette makers and a lousy deal for all of us. Also a great tool for pattern matching some of the offers being made by big tech today to the govt...

    This also applies to CEOs in many companies…(as long as the stock price doesn’t go down)…

    I really think there's a generalizable principle here. The highest echelons of American life — executives, politicians, journalists, philanthropists — are operating without meaningful consequences for bad decisions.
