10 YEAR CHALLENGE Insulin (2009) - $93 Insulin (2019) - $275 That’s a 195.69% increase for a lifesaving drug with no significant changes to the drug itself. It’s extortion, and it should be illegal.

The flashing of black and white these Sandpipers display is caused by their black backs and white chests. Coupled with the colour of the sky it looks like they keep disappearing.

A wonderful week spent musing over sleeping dragons, regenerating planaria, fish societies, VRs with apple trees, singing canaries, thinking rodents... returning to lab with renewed energy, new ideas, new friends. My brain is happy.

Lovely work from Jonathan Massey. Overturns 100 years of incorrect assumption about the yellow gene. an assumption I gave up only after long arguments, and lots of data!

scitweeps beat me to it, but here it is: a lot of firsts for me and hopefully for science too. In my first PDwork/preprint/corrAuthorWork we show first characterization of walking initiation pathways in Drosophila.
