Judge said he didn't "primarily" handle Judge Pickering's nomination, and nothing whatsoever in these emails contradicts that testimony. 's decision to put these false Democrat talking points under their banner is irresponsible and misleads their readers

. left out the 1st line of my quote: "Unfortunately, has chosen to recycle the botched report." In addition, they waited until graph 10 to note that Pickering can't remember SPEAKING to Judge . Pretty shoddy!

What’s ’s point? He has none. On Pryor/Pickering/now Haynes, Dems are dishonestly conflating being the WH Counsel lead responsible for “handling” the nomination with any discussion of the nomination whatsoever. It’s a complete and total smear with no basis. (4/5)

But when you look at the full testimony, @SenDurbin’s cherry-picking of Judge ’s words is more deceptive. In later testimony, Judge explicitly answered “yes” he was “involved in discussions involving the nominations of Haynes.” (3/5) cc:

Emails show he may have played golf with Haynes and discussed him with WH colleagues as part of a legislative package. That’s not “handling” a nomination by any sane person’s definition. (2/5)

In 2006, Judge accurately stated: “I know Jim Haynes, but it was not one of the nominations that I handled. I handled a number of nominations in the Counsel’s Office. That was not one of the ones that I handled.” (1/5)
