MoMA recently released a short film from 1902 of a German suspended railway called the Wuppertal Schwebebahn, shot in 68 mm. It shows an unusual drone-like view of a German city at the beginning of the 20th century

The streets are so peaceful. Just some kids running and on a swing, people, a chicken and birds along the road. How futuristic this suspended railway must have seemed, great piece of historic film.

I lived in Wuppertal and this is still the main public transport-system. It mostly follows the river
Today you can take the same ride over the street and you'll see it full of cars. Stop & go on the ground, but you fly over it with a normal ticket
