In the wild, obtaining clean water by distillation is a very practical method. However, glass bottles and other vessels in the video are not easily available, and water is usually held in bamboo tubes, and steam is collected using large leaves or pieces of cloth, etc.

What is the actual science behind why humans can't consume "salt water"? It's interesting because the human body requires both sodium and water.

Yeah you only need:
An iron bucket with an ispect hole for campfire.
Two glass bottles.
Some kind of sand?
A perfect holder for the two bottles and the sand.
Water.
Nice and easy!

NightHawkInLight, one of the cleverest guys on Youtube. He has a video on turning old bedsheets into waterproof tarps.
