A film with a top ten of windmills where things went wrong. Number two, a windmill that caught fire here in Holland, unfortunately cost the lives of two mechanics who were working there.

Maybe these turbines can adopt a design where the blades can retract in case the wind is too strong, ref. sailing ships.

Mother nature definitely didn't like this turbine! This design kills more than it helps!!!

Current models lock down and rotate to align with the wind to avoid these scenarios. Energy produced with high winds is not worth the wear and tear on the machine.
