        @StephenABoydPh1 I’m curious if you think this is “a thing” or not. Isn’t the shielding effect just that there is matter? Might as well be a tank (or layer) of water?

        Fascinating article, Gordon. I read it. This appears to be the real deal. The fungi radiologically process melanin using the subatomic flux. According to the paper, a 9cm wall with equimolar Martian regolith and melanin would be adequate.
