The world becomes a hostile place, b/c no-one outside of yr internet space will take you seriously - you feel self-conscious, scared, isolated, you feel that yr internet pals are the only ones who really love you, that yr "identity" (read: feelings) is sacrosanct

Thing is, even when someone in the real world DOES "validate" you, it never feels quite as good as you thought it would. Are they lying? Do they get it? Am I lying to myself? Why doesn't this make me happy for more than a few minutes? That tiny, plaintive voice of reason goes on

The identities that the
#transcult provide are even narrower than you can imagine. Every shifting aspect of yr personality & presentation requires a new label- if you feel differently abt yrself day-by-day, you need a label for that, or you might switch labels entirely day-by-dayShow this thread -
It sounds childish because it really is. And its time- and energy- consuming. You are policing every feeling & inclination & desire u have & adjusting yr sense of self every time it changes, and if yr an adoloescent, it's probably changing all the damn time. Freeing, my arse

So - my point - when u stop thinking about it entirely, when u say "I'm a woman, who wears clothes & has hair & has feelings, leave me be" - now that's freeing. I never think about my damn "gender identity" anymore. I haven't for years.

The fact of my being a woman isn't going to change. For as long as I'm alive on this Earth, I'm a woman. No matter what I wear or do or say, that can't be taken away from me. I don't need validation. I don't have to explain myself. My biological sex is a pure, simple truth.

I'm a bit concerned - I've tried really hard to find my 'gender feelings', but I don't seem to have any. Am I right to be worried? Should I see my doctor??
