    The best privacy laws have two distinct features: 1. A private right of action so users can sue companies that compromise their privacy, and 2. an understanding of harms beyond demonstrated financial harm. That's the only way to incentivize big companies to honor privacy.

    This is a pattern I've seen before. The rapist is popular, charismatic, and a friend of the victim. My heart breaks that this happened to her, and for the countless women who can't share their stories, whatever their reasons.

    We were just informed by that our business account has been "permanently limited" for an unspecified violation of their terms of service. When I called to ascertain why, I was informed that they can't tell me what term I violated b/c it's "proprietary information."

    Also true for managers who need to be called to sign-off on things when they are on vacation.

    okay so I try to avoid the 10x engineer discourse but like if your team needs to call you a bunch of times for debugging help when you go on vacation? you're not a force multiplier, you're a bottleneck.

    Two summers ago I was in a car accident with my entire family and suffered traumatic brain injury. I didn't know what it would be like to write after that, so I started slowly, writing about the accident to get it out of my head.
