    Why didn't you do anything to steer the FDA towards this before you left? And until you have the numbers on how many adults JUUL and other pod systems have helped quit or substantially reduce smoking, it's way too early (but not out of character for you) to judge the PH results.

    My Op Ed in Tomorrow’s Editorial Page: FDA should set a different regulatory path for adult dominated open tank vapes and the pod based e-cig brands that are the preferred route to kid addiction; forcing the widely abused brands down the OTC pathway.

    NEW STUDY "Spending all day in a room with 10 vapers will expose you to less nicotine than eating a single tomato." As for carbon monoxide & formaldehyde in 2nd hand vapor vs. 2nd hand smoke, there is "No significant difference bet. vapers & people who neither smoke nor vape."

    The net impact of on youngsters? N=1 but she’s my niece so a BIG 1. She vapes. But she’s stopped smoking. Her mum (cancer survivor) has also switched and hasn’t smoked in 5 yrs. Her dad (50 year smoker) has now also switched. She still vapes but she’s not an orphan.

    No human study has EVER found nicotine harms to "developing brains," so I wait with bated breath to discover what "evidence" you may invent. NO ONE should smoke. Young or old. But nicotine isn't what kills people. Lifelong inhaling TAR shortens lives of 1/2 of smokers ~8 yrs

    While making progress on reducing child & teen smoking of tobacco cigarettes we are seeing significant increases in vaping (e-cigs) which are very effective delivery devices for high doses of highly addictive nicotine. What will the consequences be to developing brains?

    Jerome Adams tweets about vaping a good deal & we engage w him. He’s fixated on teen use & manipulated stats. We know from MPs & MEPs that Pharma lobby furiously against vaping. It isn’t just cessation goods they’re losing on, but respiratory & treatments/meds 4 smoking diseases

    In the US, 6.5 million adults have quit successful by switching to vaping. Another 6.4 million are "on the journey" (total 13 million adult vapers). In the US, anti-vaping propaganda has convinced almost EVERYONE that ALL vapers are under-age kids. And so it goes.

    In the UK 2.5 million people have quit smoking using e-cigs. If they regain 7 years in mortality that is the equivalent of saving 218,750 lives. (2.5 x 7 = 17.5 million years. Divide by 80 years for average life span = 218,750 lives)

    Seems like isn't manipulating children... corrupt, misinformed adults are doing a LOT more damage. BTW, when those kids grow up and realized you used them like this, don't get butt-hurt when you don't get a mothers/fathers day card.

    "VAPING IS MORE HARMFUL THAN SMOKING" This is what tobacco control extremists are having kids write and submit to municipalities in support of prohibition.

    Quitting smoking must never be pleasureable. There must be misery. That's not to even mention the fact that switching happens for some not because they want to quit, but because they enjoy vaping more than smoking.

    If vaping is supposed to be a quitting aid for cigarette smokers, and it's the nicotine they're after, banning flavors shouldn't be a problem.

    Most smokers who quit by vaping don't want to be reminded of cigarettes. Your statement is equivalent to "all alcoholics should be forced to drink whiskey-flavored club sodas while they try to stop drinking." Constant reminder of what they're missing. Bad idea.

    Collateral damage is smokers who now think vaping is more harmful than smoking. Had a smoker tell me yesterday that my vape has more chemicals than his cigarette. I told him the truth but not sure he believed me.

    The blood of many smokers will be on the hands of these officials. Smoking kills 50% of it's customers. Vaping does not. The whole chicken little, the sky is falling, youth vaping "epidemic" is turning into what will be deadly consequences. Where's the outrage? Where's the media?

    San Francisco officials voted in favor of becoming the first city in the U.S. to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes, seeking to curb underage vaping.
