Might actually go see the film then
As someone who doesnt even like war films and find Sam Mendes a little hit-and-miss, I have to say, it's a bloody good film!
It was a fantastic movie from start to finish. I was happy to see the sikh!
I just bought my ticket and heading to the 3.10 showing in a couple of hours. Very excited for this opportunity and ready for a masterpiece... @1917 @1917FilmUK @voxcinemas @TheGalleriaUAE #AtTheGalleria
Loved that, mate. Watched it tonight, and was delighted by that casting.
I genuinely cried. I felt like a dickhead but their contribution and sacrifice is barely a footnote in our school curriculum. Completely erased when I was doing GCSE history. It was overwhelming when I saw it
I haven’t seen the film yet but have been talking about it with friends in Trinidad who tell me it’s based on the story Sam Mendes grandfather told him about his experiences in WW1 as a Trinidadian sent to Europe to fight for Britain.
Saw the film already and somehow missed the Sikh soldiers, where were they?
Trying to avoid spoilers for others... After the part where the plane gets downed, when they're in the back of the truck that gets stuck in the mud, one of the soldiers in the truck.
