$400,000 combined income between two spouses is still a lot of money. My parents make about $95,000 combined and they’re middle class. So them saying they wouldn’t raise taxes on anyone making less than $400K to me doesn’t make sense. Or maybe I just don’t understand it

The thing is: when you raise taxes these people will try to recover this extra expense cutting costs or with more revenue. So, you will cut jobs and/or salaries or increase prices. You will be affected eleven in a indirect way... there’s no magic...
