It's not that. The police have to respect that (as common sense would dictate ,saying as a warrant was out with gun crime history) he may be armed. You get split seconds to decide. What if he shot the policeman? The police have a right to life and to defend themselves too.

That man should have been arrested and those cops should be on desk duty indefinitely. I can't imagine two cops being so ill-prepared and physically over matched by one man.
