On the contrary, I think the BBC should cover it but in a way that provides information, context and background, rather than just jumping on a boat and yelling incoherent questions.

The BBC is solidly left wing broadcaster. UK version of CNN/MSN except with a vast tax-payer funded budget. If they're covering the illegal Channel crossings it'll be because they've been shamed into doing so AND they'll spin it into something left wing anyway.
