But, like @BorisJohnson, they won't actually *DO* anything.
With an 80 seat majority the Tories COULD abolish the London Mayor and return power to the London boroughs.

I think the city needs a Mayor - Khan just isn’t the right man for the job.

London did fine for centuries without a centralised, partisan chief executive. Not only is it impractical, it’s also nowhere in line with the English Constitution.

I have asked my local MP and a number of politicians if this is legally possible but have never received a reply. Is there actually a legal process to remove London mayor position without it being a long winded process?

Keep trying. All MPs should reply to their constituents. Otherwise they will lose their votes.
