          Why did he approach the police? Why was he out? Why didn’t he get back when they warned him to? He was looking for trouble and found it. This man made a choice. He is responsible for the consequences. It’s sad that this man chose to make himself an example.

          There are comments below that suggest that the guy was wrong to block the path of the riot police, and that argument may well have some merit, but their reaction to continue walking past someone who was clearly in a bad way is absolutely shameful and there is no excuse for that!
