If the masks work, why do we need 6ft? If the 6ft works, why do we need a mask?

Because nothing is 100%. If a mask has a 5% failure rate and distancing has a 5% failure rate and we do both, we get to an overall 0.25% failure rate. Not bad.

Or... “if seatbelts work why do we need airbags?”

This virus affects Obesity and vitamin deficient individuals most. Masks and social distancing is just delaying the inevitable. Healthy immune system, healthy diet, exercise, and sunlight will protect you far greater from not only this virus but much deadlier diseases.

Using that logic, everything everyone is doing just delays the inevitable. No ones getting through life without dying sooner or later. 🙄

Yea I actually saw someone say, "well some people CHOOSE to not use those either". Because apparently now seatbelt laws are infringing on freedom too. I weep for humanity.

Growing up in CA in the 80s, I remember a lot of adults hated the then-new seat belt law. Helmet laws, too. These idiots have always been among us, opposing any common-sense public health/safety measures.

Why do people not understand this was a rhetorical question

A rhetorical question brings up a view to consider, to prepare listeners for the point you're going to make next. Asking stuff that you could have known and being told such is not a rhetorical question.
