      We are watching the Great British Baking Show...why are British contestants so charming and self-effacing while Americans on similar shows are so awful? Is it because the Brits are playing only for a prize that is a plate? And Americans compete for cash and bragging rights?

          I love the Brits on this show. We watched a similar Ameican show that was hosted by Paul Hollywood, one of the British Baking Show judges. The Americans are hideous. Even Hollywood was different...I suspect American producers are also asking for end-zone dances and fights.
