When all else fails to draw attention to one's self scream Brexit. Its all Brexits fault. Ironically I think it is one of the things that will save us from this. They were no help to other member states, too busy giving money to Morocco & Tunisia.
Of course, in amongst a thread about how poor the bureaucratic procurement process was for new ventilators, the Financial Times has to get a ding against Brexit in.
