There’s a huge media gap right now btw mainstream coverage and the Trump media, where the biggest story is speculation that the coronavirus escaped from a Chinese lab. This will so likely be a central Trump theme of the coming months, and maybe through the election (1/pic.twitter.com/5SQUjLSLXI

Speculation? The chairman of the Joint Chiefs says US intelligence is investigating whether the virus escaped from a Wuhan lab.https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/14/mark-milley-us-intelligence-investigating-whether-/ …

That article seems to scan with: There's no positive evidence for the theory. (Good piece.) Or am I missing something?

There’s no positive evidence it came from a wet market either. Theories are scientific ways of explaining things. SARS leaked from Chinese labs in the past and this Nature article says lab leak possible https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-020-0820-9 …

I'm not objecting to your reporting. I'm just watching this go from circumstantial to leading theory with no evidence.

Once again, there’s no positive evidence it came from a bowl of soup either. So the “leading theory” has always been rubbish. But it only irks you now, when the CCP is at risk?

Haven't seen the bowl of soup theory get much play of Fox. "We don't know" is pretty irksome, but political cheerleading for one theory (or the politicized debunking of it) is worse.

Sorry I don’t know where Fox came into this? I thought we were discussing general theories and their efficacy. Didn’t realise we were trying to ding Fox.
