I also think some "conservatives" are trying to stake out ground for their brand to monetize it in the future; books, speeches, law suits etc...

Then there is the middle ground: ppl who realize it's not the flu but think the govt response is overblown. Particularly in NYC where residents have been told to assume they were exposed, where it was floating around the public school for a while & the subways are a cesspool.
