I work in medical billing for a hospital- you should be able to get a big self-pay discount...negotiate with them

Call their billing number, let them know you don’t have insurance (if that’s the case). Tell them you would be able to pay a fourth-then if that’s refused, then half. Many times they will take at least half off, if you can pay right away

I always say paying cash. Usually need to wait until the bill comes in before I can pay. Then, I call them, halved immediately.
