The iPhone 11 Pro Max costs around $400 to make. It begins at retail for $1,100. Don’t let anyone tell you the price would HAVE to go up to make it in the US. The profit margin would have to come down.

Corporations don't cut their profits, to the detriment of their shareholders, simply because people like you think they should. Costs would rise both to protect profits and because, labor/regulatory costs aside, there are supply chain issues to overcome.

“People like me” happen to be their most valued customers. That’s why I can to senior people in most companies I’ve loyally given business to for decades. You probably don’t have these relationships if you’re just buying cheap tat on Amazon. So yes, they change for some of us.
