I'm not an employee...and my radio job keeps me from having as much time to write as I'd like. FYI, my degree is in poli sci though I studied about as much econ at Columbia University. Don't try the "appeal to authority" with me.

Since you're such a super-genius, right up there with Wile E Coyote, I'm sure you realize that if iPhones were made entirely in the USA, almost nobody could afford them.

...and what happens when the market is producing a product that no one can afford, Ross? I feel like we might get somewhere, here.

Someone will use an overseas supply chain to make a version that people can afford.

...and what if (as it should be) that is discouraged in some way, shape, or form?

Why should that be discouraged? The answer, though, is that society is poorer and quality of life is lower.
