2/ Everyone was far nicer. Way opposite to the fear narrative CNN is pushing, people seem to be getting along better. People were making room more readily. We were nodding and greeting each other with a communal sense of watchfulness, purpose, and consideration.

3/ It was a beautiful afternoon. Around 65-70F on Capitol Hill. I made the mistake of wearing my quilted Barbour jacket. People noticed. Especially when I was lugging heavy bags home from the Trader Joes.

4/ Speaking of Trader Joes. They had a “one in one out” policy. It was far more pleasant to be in the store like this. No bumping into each other’s trollies (carts) and no one reaching over me to grab the Organic Matcha-Infused Whole Wheat Tofurky Burgers or whatever.

I had nearly similar thoughts where I’m at. The only one I will add is “Coronavirus does not stop people from squeezing fruits and veggies to see if they’re ripe. Or licking their fingers to open those sticky plastic produce bags.”
