Italy is an outlier, for a number of reasons. While this is certainly not the flu, it's also true that everywhere else isn't necessarily Italy.

While that number is pretty surprising—and I'm sure the CFR in Italy is going to rise due to the overwhelmed medical system—the number probably also reflects testing scaling back to only the most severe cases. Similarly to how the CFR in WA started out near 15%

When the system becomes overloaded, it can only test the *absolutely most severe* cases, which biases the CFR higher than it actually is. Still, the situation in Italy is eye-opening, tremendously sad, and a very real possibility here.
