3/ Maybe they had me under the name "LONDON" or something, I don't know. Anyway the guy jumps back on the phone. As helpful as he can be. Super apologetic. He's like, "You came here on December 7th?" ...I didn't go there on December 7th.

4/ On December 7th I went to one of their OTHER centres across town coz I threw my back out. Anyway, that's besides the point. He comes back on the phone and is like, "Yeah you look good". I'm like, "What does that mean? Negative?"

He's like, "Yeah all your labs came back negative". Imagine my relief. Except, he adds: "Buttttt... we don't have your COVID-19 test result back yet." Ok so he just told me what I already knew on Tuesday. This is the "best hospital" in DC. Or one of them.

So I ask what I'm supposed to do, since I've been self quarantined since Tuesday. He said –  I KID YOU NOT – "I mean you're probably fine".

Now he wasn't trying to be flippant. He explained that USUALLY if there's a positive test result, they know much sooner than 3 days. So I asked him what I should do. Again, "Yeah, I would probably just unquarantine". I'm speechless. Sort of.

Anyway, I forgot to number these. Rushing to type. He asked me to call DOH once more to see if they have my test. And as I typed this he called me again (Wrong number) and was trying to reach DOH himself. So at least he's trying! So what should I do if I don't hear back?

Just had the most INFURIATING phone call with @_DCHealth. When I got tested Dr said DC DOH would give me results. When I called DOH operator confirms. When I call hospital they confirm. But DC DOH lab says, "Nope, we don't". So now they're calling the hospital to discuss 🙄

I wonder how many other patients who don't have nearly 200k Twitter followers are facing frustrations like this. On hold on the DOH line they brag, "Results available within 24 hours!" For me it has been 73 hours so far and no luck. This is America – do I sue?!

THE LATEST: Hospital called me back and said they DO NOT have the results back from @_DChealth yet. Advised me to stay put and call back at 8pm. Urgh. I’m sorry for any of you this is convincing to not get tested but if you have symptoms/community exposure - GET TESTED!

They cant test everyone. It's not practical. You have the symptoms? Then take the hit and ISOLATE.

Thank you for being smart & quarantining & getting tested. I keep hearing “it’s just old people who need to worry” or “its mild for most”. Even if mild, you’re still contagious. Here’s my 10 mo old born w/heart disease. High risk. I urge ppl to think of others like you have🙏🏻pic.twitter.com/FmtLB6Jqt4

This is a good time to talk about "shedding" which makes this strain of virus so infectious. As I understand it, as soon as you are infected and, before you show any symptoms, you begin to "shed" the virus into the space around you: it comes from your mouth, skin and your butt.

More knowledgeable can correct me but I believe it can live in air droplets for 36 hours & for days on surfaces Infected people are shedding the virus all around them You should wear gloves & masks not to protect yourself but to reduce the shedding that infects uninfected people

I think you mentioned on your stream the other day that you use a disinfecting UV lamp? Any recommendations on a brand?

Many (if not most) hospitals have patient advocates. They may be able to cut through the red tape...while adding more red tape. Still, it's an avenue to explore.
