When you call, you can hear automated news, information, and calming assistance. You can also opt to speak to an operator, or get a call back at your convenience. Honestly, it'd be such a good idea for the U.S. if it doesn't exist already.

10 members of my family, including myself have all been extremely ill the past 8 days. All been diagnosed with a chest infection and 111 reassuring us that because we haven’t travelled to the infected country we couldn’t possibly have it. Seems a bit weird

The thing is, the 111 hotline is not just for the novel coronavirus. It’s been a non-emergency medical hotline for ages. It’s pretty damn good too.

Apparently no one can get through to the helpline in Berlin. Numerous cases being reported on Twitter today of infections at Kindergartens. Infections relatively low here because not enough people being seen and tested.
