Schlapp asserts I am grinding an axe coz I wasn't on his speaking schedule this year. A really odd thing to claim. I spoke for CPAC years, and at CPAC Australia. I don't need to speak at CPAC. I was on the Speaker Advisory Board this year for CPAC. I didn't recommend myself.
It is sad that @mschlapp says he "holds me in contempt".
I don't hold him in contempt, and I never name checked him personally until his podcast appearance with the establishment Yahoo! News.
I don't have that kind of MSM sway, so I'll tweet a few more thoughts on the matter.
After 2 days of panicked calls from CPAC attendees, speakers and VIPs, I was asked to make public the info we had all gathered.
I took the risk, knowing Schlapp, @Schneider_DC & @IanBWalters might be upset.
But it's a public health crisis. That's more important than PR.
The other reason Schlapp's comments are galling is that I was (am still) very sick and I developed that sickness the day after CPAC. Yes, I quarantined, took meds, called doctors, etc. They suggested tracking a test down. It took until yday for that test to happen.
BUT... In the interest of not wanting to fight some weird, internecine war over coronavirus, Matt has my number. As do his staff. Gimme a call, guys. In your hearts you know I got you to where you want to be, for your attendees' peace of mind, and for your conference.
Lastly, people who know me well know I don't take well to being attacked publicly like this. Especially from people I have done so many (free) favors for. I've brought them speakers, vetted their attendees' lists, defended them when they've been attacked, etc. This is just sad
Anyway, the matter is closed as far as I am concerned. Sorry Matt thinks I stabbed him in the heart for providing info that actually ended up being true and important to people (more got tested yday). I'll make it up to you one day with a martini at Hamilton's, Matt.
Finally I want to say THANK YOU to all the people who have supported me as I have come under attack for... reporting in the public interest. I really appreciate each and every one of you. Especially while I am sick and quarantined, your calls, texts, and tweets mean a lot!
