Ok so a very nice nurse came in and asked some Qs. Took my temperature. No fever (I stopped having a fever last Friday). Blood pressure is high, however. But that could be (and probably is) related to anything else (my interpretation, not hers). Waiting on another nurse now.

Another nurse came in with a full head shield type mask. Asked me Qs about my exposure to the virus and the flu I’ve had. She took me to another room. This one has hand sanitizers so I used one. Everything is very good, clean, and fast. And friendly.

I do wonder what they’re doing with the pens they’re giving to me to sign stuff. I hope they’re sterilised between patient use.

Some silly replies to this thread so far, including: - “You dont have a fever, why get tested?” (I had a fever from Weds-Fri and have been artificially keeping it down) - “Why go to the ER!?” (That’s what health officials told me to do yday) As if I’d WANT to be here

Doctor just came in. Checked my breathing, heart rate, and ran through a bunch of questions with me. She says I look good (natch ) and indicated it was the correct thing for me as someone with community exposure to a carrier to get checked. She’s now ordering a chest X-ray.

Ok finally a new update. Another nice nurse (they’re all so explanatory and polite) came and took two vials of my blood and swabbed in my nostrils and on my throat. I also now have a spiffy gown on because my shirt buttons were apparently going to interfere with the X-ray.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a hospital so I’m easily impressed right now. For an X-ray they just wheeled this Samsung machine to my room and put a board behind me and snapped a picture. I thought it was going to be a whole ordeal but this was quick and easy.

They just came in and told me I don’t have strep! They’re eliminating things one by one I guess.
