Raheem, I generally agree, but here's the thing: look at how low the death count still is. Either it's much less lethal than we thought, or it's not being spread at the rate we feared. Yes, they're not testing enough, but for very sick people/deaths they would.
The death count in the West is low because of access to what is required, including conditions. But there is an upper limit to what can be supplied, if infection rates become too high. Furthermore, mutations can occur.
I am inclined to agree with you on essentially everything you've said. South Korea is probably North America's best comparable with widespread testing. They have 43 dead, 6,593 cases of 140,000 tested. Almost all fatal cases are of seniors or people with preexisting conditions.
