Plenty of players would have stayed at Arsenal just for the money (£1600 a month at 15 not exactly peanuts!) and ended up doing nothing with their careers. Should show that to all the youngsters coming through at Swansea now

Unless I’ve misread it, the salary was for the 3 year contract after the scholarship.
Yeah looks like you’re right, still plenty of players who will have taken the offer just to say ‘they play for Arsenal’ even though they didn’t play
