My point was more that before we started messing around with phases of play and if players were interfering or not the rule used to be as simple as ‘a player standing in an offside a position is offside’. There’s no confusion with that. Player is offside or onside

Suggestion above is let’s say you have 50cm or has to be both feet. So what if it’s 50.1cm, or the back foot is 5mm ahead of play? Do we need to change it again until we end up not having offside?
