Because at a certain, unknown, point those packs are not putting money into esports anymore. My original point was that any cap is not supporting esports as much as possible, which seems disingenous for the 'Masters Bundle' being advertised to 'Support Hearthstone Esports'

I think if your expectations are going from no support to potentially infinite funding in a single step then you need to manage your expectations. This is a step. A step is good.

No, Toast is not expecting infinite money, just that Blizzard disclose when the bundle has met its cap and you are no longer supporting esports buy purchasing it.

Like cmon, it's like 75k people buying it while it being a good deal + a skin, it's always going to be bought by probably twice as much people to me it feels like a greedy move while still trying to make the competitive community happy

Wow, something that supports the competitive community and makes a company a lot of money. How fucking terrible.

It's definitely not terrible but it's also conceivable that they might make a similar amount of money (or more) if it wasn't capped since the community feedback would be better and it would be more positively hyped which would drive sales and incentivize people to gift bundles.

I think the point is why is there a negative response at all? Wanting something to be more (whether or not it could be) doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with it.

Nobody is upset it exists. People, who are also customers, are upset it exists in its current form

I guess that's my point -- I think being upset about something that is very likely a person or persons worked very hard to make happen is likely to be received very poorly by them. "Wow, they don't even like it. Is it every enough?" There's a person somewhere who can feel that.

I don't know how things work at Blizzard but my guess would be that “people who worked hard to make it happen” and “people who decided there should be a cap” are different people, and it was a compromise between them.
