Rewatching the game, it's so weird and troubling to me that England football crowds are 95% white faces. Can't help but feel that the EDL types have made crowds a toxic place for PoC despite an ethnically diverse team.

I think a lot of it at this tournament comes down to advice pre tournament about risks in Russia. Think I heard an interview with Danny Rose where he didn’t want his family in Russia because he didn’t want them subjected to racism.

Yeah that might have a lot to do with it. It'll be interesting to see whether anything is noticeably different after Russia now that I've become aware of the issue.

I hope so. I’m a QPR season ticket holder and I know we have a significant number of BME/PoC fans, always have.

I don't think it's ever been a problem at club level. But I can't blame people from immigrant backgrounds for not wanting to fly the St George's Cross at a time like this. It's not like England has been kind to them lately.

I think you’re slightly overplaying the flag issue and possibly underplaying the fact that for many their allegiance is split. Many of the guys I went to school with who were born and raised here but who’s family are from Ghana, Jamaica etc support them for internationals

Tha might partly be because of awful groups who use our flag in the wrong way, but also because to be one of those 10k or so in Moscow on Weds it’s a huge commitment. They’ve likely travelled around Europe for at least the last 2 years watching England

I did it for the failed 2008 campaign, I’m not sure I could have done it if I was part American/Canadian etc. Hopefully the crowd for 1st Wembley game shows a true reflection of England as a nation, with plenty of diversity in the crowd
