Tomorrow we rebuild.

No you don't. What you do is destroy, you don't build shit. RMS, on top of being the reason free software exists, made free software his identity. He is the reason it remained rigorously untouched. Watch Microsoft absorb the FSF now.

Letting one person have that level of control on any movement is not healthy and doesn't make sense especially in this arena.

Yeah lol lmao let's kick Linus out of the Linux foundation and see what happens. Linus got approached many times by the NSA and refused their offer. That strong leadership is the reason why I'm not forced to login in to my Google/Microsoft/Apple account to use the computer I own.

Like, put everything aside...he's outdated and your mentality is outdated. There are people who have their fingers on the pulse of what's important and relevant today that may not have the same stature but can probably do a better job of the advocacy work necessary to *progress*.

How is he outdated? Free software NEEDS to be rigid. Those people you're talking about (no names?) do not have the same commitment he has. RMS could never be swayed, for money or anything. I would bet those "progress" hungry "people" cannot say the same.

Which is my point. Especially with small communities such as this, it's important to always have the finger on the pulse of what's happening, what's important, being innovative, and advocacy work is huge. I don't think a creepy nearly 70 year old man who doesn't take showers fits

This "creepy old man gatekeeping" is the reason free software is still pure, and doesn't not follow the open source path

You keep talking about past, past, past, and making my point for me. It's good. I'm not gonna clog Sarah's timeline anymore nor waste either of our time.

And you keep making the assumption that new == good, despite so many examples of the opposite, especially in software. But hey, I guess there's no point discussing with a brainlet who worries about "clogging Sarah's timeline"
