Trying to think of a topic for International Human Rights and nothing is pulling me in. These feels like the worst kind of writers block.

Would a love to read bout if ideals employed by western democracies are considered an infringement of human rights if done in like arab countries. Did peek me interest after listening a Nigerian woman defend female circumcision. Successfully if I might add.

Well you’d enjoy reading the debate surrounding universalism and cultural relativism. Newer schools of thought have ventured into particularism. I for one don’t believe HR are truly universal because when the UDHR was drafted, many were left out of the conversation.

Den again, maybe you a talk bout rights enshrined in d UDHR... If a dat you mean maybe that wudnt work. Prolly look at the 'changing face of HR', ansa question like if the new generation think the UDHR adequately captures all we need it to in this day and age

Also the UDHR has no binding effect as it is just a declaration. It simply reflects the spirit of Human Rights from a mostly western ideology. My exposure to post-colonial application to HR has shifted my perspective a bit. I once thought 100% universal but alas.

True... Me guess me just did a consider seh d west use the udhr to promote ideals of what a peaceful and coherent society look like and wanted to hear d other side a d story but since it out there already. What about how the US still considers LGBT rites liberal/conservative
