Listening to random chatters at Starbucks. Feels like colloquial (human English) speech generation is mode-collapsing on the word ‘like’!

Touched front-end code after a very very long time for a Dallinger chatroom experiment design. Bootstrap, Jinja, Flask, all those JS (even underscore/loadash) stuff - came screaming back to my fingers. Would make proud!

Spotlight metaphor of Posner (1980), feature synthesis model (Treisman, 1990), attentional models (Wolfe, 1994) - computational cog. sci. old papers are a treasure cove of ideas to codify. Alas, the low-hanging fruits are taken.

Why convolute and not use the original elucidations (w. credits)? On language grounding, from the slides of a renowned figure. Isn't this just Searle's Chinese room argument (1980) or S. Harnad's better exposited Chinese-Chinese dictionary e.g. from symbol grounding problem?
