That was what I always thought. They were for people like me who are willing to sit on a bench with others but would really like a small barrier between us

You never realized it, really? That’s what is for, to prevent homeless people from laying down. The same same thing with large sharp rocks under freeways bridges. So much for being inclusive - right.
