I know this is bad retail politics, but man, I love seeing Feinstein telling off a bunch of kids - and I’m not even kidding.https://twitter.com/sunrisemvmt/status/1099075460649107458 …

Horrible response

Using children in politics is a bad trick. Our parental instincts are to always side with them. However, I doubt many of them actually read the GND document or understood what's inside. It's pretty hard to explain them why it's not a good idea.

This reminds me of the seven-year-old selling hot chocolate to help build Trump’s Wall... respecting children doesn’t mean putting their opinions on par with adults. Children deserve to be heard and responded to, but in developmentally appropriate ways.

Perhaps Feinstein could’ve been afforded the opportunity to explain what she *is* doing, with children raising their hands to ask thoughtful questions. Change within the system is hard; so is change outside the system: successful community activism takes planning & hard work. 1/2

I heard imploring. Maybe the Senator could listen and acknowledge their plea? Give people a voice and they typically don’t shout. Not a fan of using kids for this to be sure, but she blew a great opportunity to be a servant leader. She was condescending from the get. -
She did listen. She attempted a response, but they talked over her. Just because you have a voice doesn't mean she has an obligation to agree.

If you deeply believe that Global Warming is an urgent problem, then hearing a member of a political body that hasn’t done a damn thing in decades to fix it say “trust me, I know what I’m doing” is not reassuring, it’s downright insulting.

This. She's been in office 3 decades.
