CodeCraft Engineering panel going on w/ @RachelleMDavis moderating an incredible lineup of Blizzard tech talent. C# and Python just got applause....and cake stands? It’s a whole thing now. We also have 100+ engineering openings, check ‘em out! #BlizzCon2019 #blizzlife #gamedevpic.twitter.com/Vq3SrjqsWS

Can't express how much I appreciated this panel. The panelists, especially John and Rachelle, did a great job of demystifying expectations for someone looking to break into the field, especially into Blizzard. It's really nice to hear that Learn & Grow is truly practiced.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Getting into games and working at @Blizzard_Ent is absolutely achievable — it takes passion, skill, and perseverance, but at the end of the day we are all a bunch of creative souls doing something we love.

Thank you so much! Your story of adopting C# quickly illustrates these characteristics very well and helped alleviate a bit of (pre?)imposter syndrome. The first change I made when I left Activision QA was to go back to school to study CompSci for skills++ Thank you again! :D

When I give talks to students in STEM, I always tell them the most important skill they can have in their tool belt is the ability to learn. Learning a language is one way to apply that but it extends to everything else — tech stack, new software, even the people on your team.
