No election security experts I know approve mobile phone voting infrastructure. And the fact that the authentication protocol to log in (name and birthdate) is less robust than my Starbucks account is absurd.

I don’t understand how this is greenlit. Do these folks need hackers to build a proof of concept name/birthdate repository for King County to highlight how irresponsible it is to use that information for authentication? They’ll want hackers to do so before the criminals do.

Based on the article, my understanding is that your name and DOB aren't used for authentication, but only identification. Your signature is used for authentication.

Referring to the ability to cast a vote under that name requiring name/birthdate at sign in. Signature for “authenticity” auth is also wild.
