If you criticise the Israeli government does that make you an antisemite then?

No it doesent. But repeat posting that question at Jewish people may well be.

Reading Joe's tweet one would almost think Labour members have been suspended for criticizing Israel and not for saying stuff like "Talmud Jews need executing" and denying the Holocaust.

Do you agree with what the Israeli government is doing to the people of Gaza?

So, can you clarify, explicitly, for everyone here Rachel, whether you are arguing ALL criticism of the Israeli Government IS or ISN’T Anti-Semitic? Or perhaps your opinion is this is nuanced, and some policy criticism might be AS whilst some not...
-
...in which case some examples of how you might differentiate the two would be greatly appreciated. I’m sure you’ll agree the thread shows people are generally very confused by your initial tweet. Probably in part bcos...

There’s a massive difference between being anti-Israel and being antisemitic. Surely you can grasp that
-
What do you mean by anti Israel ? Do you want to allow Jews to have a country : yes or no ?
-
No problem with Israelis having their own land. The problem is when they annexe a wide strip of a neighbour's land as a "buffer zone" and then stop them at the beach from leaving by sea. Israel - Yes. Neighbour's land - No.

I think supporting groups which wish to see the destruction of Israel because it is a Jewish State is anti semitism and it is the same whether Politicians or ordinary people.

But a valid point, some Jews are proud Zionists and see any criticism of Israel as AS to shut the discussion down.
