One of the most devastating changes going into effect today is that schools no longer have to investigate most sexual assaults that happen off campus. According to RAINN, 92% of assaults happen off campus. This means survivors may no longer be able to go to their schools for help

Other concerning changes include raising the bar for determining what is sexual misconduct, and requiring that survivors are cross examined in live hearings. The list goes on. The Trump rules protect accused students at the expense of predominantly female sexual assault survivors
