For those asking, I am trying the autoimmune protocol, which is an elimination diet aimed at targeting allergens that may be triggering my autoimmunity. I am doing an N=1 experiment. I have no issue with these things from a moral/ nutritional stance, so carry on as you wish!

interesting, given your enlightenment in other areas, I had assumed you were already eating a healthy diet
what comprises of "&more" in this case? -
No nightshades or peppery spices, no processed foods, no seed oils.
-
so you're left with meat, eggs, vegetables and fruit?
-
Oh... no eggs! haha. Forgot that big one. Meat, fish, veggies, fruit, fermented veggies, coconut yogurt
-
interesting....rationale? fighting auto immunity? cutting gluten, oils and sugar was a good move....
-
Yes, autoimmunity issues. I still have carbs!
-
well, you could eliminate sugar without eliminating carbs....
what are your carb sources? -
Still eating fruit and starch rich veggies.

I spent 2 full days on the couch in zombie mode detoxing from caffeine cold turkey. Never go cold turkey.
-
Oh interesting. I definitely went cold turkey and I was just foggy and had a mild headache for about 3-4 days.
-
Goals was 30 days made it to 25. I stopped enjoying the gym altogether
-
Oh no! Were you just not motivated to go or slugging through?
-
Both, caffeine gets me motivated and helps me push hard. I’ve been using it daily for 7-8 years and it’s amazing
-
Yes, I can see that. Can be a motivator. Sometimes it has the opposite effect on me though and I crash.
-
I find if that happens it’s because I’m way overtired
-
I can second this. That's why its nice to have a rule to not have caffeine after 3-4 pm, it never helps.

I cut caffeine and my energy improved dramatically. Also my mood and I don't clench my jaw when I sleep nearly as much
-
How long has it been without caffeine?
-
About 2 months. I'll sip an espresso shot when out with friends but I've done that only twice in two months. I also was out with my nephews & had a cup of coffee bc I was bushed. I love coffee but its an occasional thing bc I know the consequences
-
Plus, my energy is much more predictable without it. That is a BIG WIN in my book
-
It’s been two weeks without coffee and I’m amazed at how much more consistent my energy is! I’ll always love coffee but not everyday

-
what do you all drink in the morning? if not coffee and black/green/white tea?
-
Bone broth or an herbal tea
-
I drink water (1-1.5ltr) with some salt in it for about 2-3 hours. Then I have some tea. Sometimes in another hour or two, I'll drink some raw cacao
