I think most people figure they will be in the 99%, and they don't seem to be that concerned about the rest. My guess is we will get to well over a million deaths by March, but it's just a guess. My guess is most people still won't care.

The amount of denialism and self-absorption truly astounds me. Especially that it is so blatant when the numbers are at their worst. People can not seem to give up the most basic things for the sake of the greater good. They refuse to see how they contribute to the problem.

What gets me is that so many people are ignoring that the problem isn't just the death rate (which is bad enough on its own) but the harm done to many of the survivors. The USA is gong to have a lot of people with life-long injuries/disabilities from COVID-19.

“More than doubles the annual deaths, all at once” except for the fact it’s killed 250k in 8 months, so nothings all at once lol. Also 3.2 million dying would imply the entire country has been infected. We are at 12 million. Literally only 3% of the country in over 8 months.

But but but... (It’s all just thinly veiled eugenics)

I don't think it goes that deep. I think most people who think this is a good idea are just selfish and have been propagandized to the point where they don't think about numbers, only about who's talking and how they feel.
